Hey gentlefriends. About two months ago, I realized VERY quickly that my fall was going to get… hectic. But in a good way!

I hate being right sometimes.

I could ramble on in detail, because I am known to do so, but in the words of the great Inigo Montoya:

  • LA Comic-Con: lots of photos, some autographs, good friends, good times
  • Promoting Midnight Mischief and Mistletoe: which, oh hey, we have e-reader presales happening?!
  • Finishing Trials and Traditions: more on that below
  • Finishing, or at least making useable, this damn site
  • Vet appointments for the gremlin: aka TenSoon, our 6 month old kitten
  • Midnight Mischief and Mistletoe’s Halloween Giveaway and Facebook Takeover
  • Halloween: costumes, parties, and a trip to Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor
  • MM&M‘s Release
  • Rehearsals leading up to…
  • My aerial showcase: haven’t performed in 2 years, but I’m insanely excited; AND
  • REPO! The Genetic Opera: my shadowcast is doing a 17th anniversary show
  • NoNo: my local writing group’s Novel November Challenge
  • Thanksgiving: I go to at least two
  • January submission and convention prep: so I’m not scrambling the first week of 2026

Do I regret any of this? No. Am I going to have the mother of all food comas and power nap whenever possible? Yes.

So on to the big announcement details…

The romance anthology my friend and fellow author, T. A. Leederman (if you like Sci-Fi, romance, LARP or all of the above, do check them out https://taleederman.com/), are both in, Midnight Mischief and Mistletoe comes out November 3. We’ve already got presales going for the e-reader versions—this lovely link will take you to all the seller options https://geni.us/6Wfi54K. Does it feel real to me yet? Still no. I will say, going through this experience with a friend has made all the difference in the world. T has been my second biggest supporter (my spouse is #1 and loves reminding me of this by answering my calls with “HELLO PUBLISHED AUTHOR WIFE”), a driving force of commas, and an amazing promoter and marketer. I don’t know many authors that can say they’ve gone through the submit-publish-promote wringer with a friend, but I’m happy to be among their number.

My short story Trials and Traditions is now available to subscribers! If you’re already subscribed, I’ve probably already sent you a copy but feel free to comment below and I’ll send it your way. Otherwise, click that sweet little Subscribe button.

Josh is your average barista at a little Portland cafe called Once Upon a Grind. Life is…fine. It’s not like he’s wishing for greatness or excitement. But when stranger things than usual start happening at the cafe, testing him, will he rise to the occasion?

Trials and Traditions is me finally admitting I have, in fact, accidentally created a little verse for my urban-fantasy tales. A little something to lure in readers into the world of Packs and Negotiations and Pacts and Transactions, and whatever else the muses demand be written. There’s a lot of room for stories here and new characters seem to constantly be raising their hands asking if they can have a turn (I’m looking at multiple werewolves, a crow-shifter, a vampire, a semi-immortal coyote, and at least two witches).

With that in mind, see you next time, and welcome to…

West Coast Wyrd
